The area
El Raso is a modern residential area in the hinterland of Guardamar del Segura, on the southern Costa Blanca. Here you have the peace and space of the hinterland, with beaches, coastal towns and nature close at hand.
El Raso borders the Laguna de La Mata natural park directly, a protected nature area known for its pink salt lake and its rich wildlife. There are walking and cycling routes, and the park is known for its many kinds of birds, flamingos among them.
El Raso is 4 kilometres from the coast. Playa del Moncayo and Playa Centro, the best-known beaches of Guardamar, have fine sand, clear water, beach bars and sunbeds. You can go paddleboarding and snorkelling there.
Every Sunday there is a market in El Raso, with fresh produce, clothes, crafts and local specialities. The historic centre of Guardamar is a short distance away, with shops, restaurants, the Castillo de Guardamar and the Archaeological Museum. In Guardamar the focus is on fresh fish and seafood.
La Marquesa Golf in Rojales is 10 minutes away by car, La Finca Golf in Algorfa 15 minutes. Villamartín Golf and Las Ramblas Golf are both within 25 minutes.
Alicante-Elche airport is 30 minutes away by car; the AP-7 and the N-332 take you quickly to Alicante, Elche and Torrevieja. El Raso has shops and supermarkets. La Zenia Boulevard, the largest shopping centre on the Costa Blanca, is 20 minutes away, and the Quirón Salud hospital in Torrevieja 15 minutes.
